Summary
This research explores rural sanitation dynamics in Uganda through participatory modeling and computer simulations. It investigates mechanisms for sustainably achieving desired sanitation outcomes by engaging with district-level sanitation actors to build a System Dynamics model. The study recommends reinforcing the perceived value of improved sanitation to sustain outcomes and suggests systemic changes in programs or policies to maintain desirable intervention results.
